Flowers:

3 to 7 pistillate flowers, corolla 0.5 to 1 mm; 3 to 10 disk flowers, corolla 1.5 to 2 mm


Fruit:

5 to 8 mm, club shaped


Leaves:

petiole more or less winged; leaf blades mostly near base of plant, subentire to shallowly lobed; white tomentose below, green and glabrous above; 3 to 15 cm wide


Plant:

3 to 10 dm tall; lower plant tomentose, stalked-glandular above. Poultice of leaves applied to sores by the Cowlitz.

shaded woods and forests

Alaska to California, east to Montana, Colorado, and New Mexico
