Flowers:

verticils crowded in a dense spikelike inflorescence; calyx 5 lobed, 2 lipped, with 15 or more prominent veins; 4 stamens exserted, the upper pair greater than the lower


Leaves:

petiolate or subsessile, toothed; finely and closely tomentose puberulent beneath


Plant:

perennial, 40 to 50 cm tall


Habitat:

most often found in rocky places
