Flowers:

heads about 1 cm wide; phyllaries pearly white; disk flower corolla 4 to 5 mm, pistillate flower corolla 4 to 6 mm


Fruit:

0.5 to 1 mm, papillate


Leaves:

3 to 10 cm, sessile, entire; linear to lanceolate; less hairy above, white-tomentose below


Plant:

white-wooly perennial; rhizomatous; 2 to 9 dm tall


Habitat:

woods, roadsides, disturbed places
