Flowers:

bisexual flowers born in 2's and 3's at the end of axillary peduncles; corolla rotate, cream in color

Fruit:

hairs on seeds hooked, 0.5 to 1 mm long


Leaves:

in whorls of 6 (or 5); leaflets 6 to 38 mm long


Plant:

decumbent perennial


Habitat:

damp, shady forests

North America, Greenland, Europe, and Asia
