The genus Lomatium, an endemic to North America, includes over 70 different species in the west.
Many of the species are not constrained by the type-specimen ideology and display a variety of
morphological differences. The population of L. hambleniae in which this specimen was photographed
had reduced involucre bracts (1 or 2), and many plants did not have any bracts at all. This
population may be confused with Lomatium ambiguum or Lomatium idahoense because of this.
Plant: Roots eaten by the Yakama. | |
