Flowers:

greater than 20 flowers in a panicle; pedicels 0.5 to 2mm long; tepals narrowly oblong, 1.5 to 2 mm


Leaves:

blades 7 to 20 cm, ovate to oblong-elliptic, bases more or less clasping


Plant:

rhizomatous perennial; unbranched stem 30 to 90 cm tall. Berries eaten by the Thompson, Okanagan, and the Upper Skagit.


Habitat:

moist woods and streambanks to open forests and slopes, sea level to middle elevations
