Flowers:

inflorescence 1 to 3 dm tall, blooming bottom to top; hypanthium 3 to 3.5 mm wide, saucer-shaped; petals yellow-green, with 5 to 9 linear lobes

Leaves:

all basal; blade 3 to 8 cm wide, more broad than long, 7 to 9 shallow lobes, base of leaf slightly reniform


Plant:

1 to 3 dm tall


Habitat:

moist valleys and wooded slopes in the mountains to near timberline

British Columbia to California, east to Montana and Nevada
