Flowers:

Inflorescence many flowered; flower stems 15 to 20 cm; petals 6 to 15 mm, obovate-oblanceolate, pink to reddish purple; sepals erect 3 to 6 mm; anthers 1.5 to 2 mm


Fruit:

siliques 1.5 to 8 cm long by 2 to 5 mm wide, 2 rows of seeds per chamber; seeds 3 to 4 mm, smooth


Leaves:

mostly in a basal rosette; basal blades entire, petioled, oblanceolate, 3 to 15 cm long by 0.5 to 1.5 cm wide, greyish with dense branched hairs


Plant:

perennial; more or less cespitose; more or less scapose


Habitat:

sagebrush desert to ponderosa pine forest, basalt outcrops
