Flowers: white to pinkish; intercostal membranes of the calyx strongly and permanently carinate toward the base; style elongate, 4 to 10 mm, several times as long as the stigmas |

Leaves: linear or nearly so, not greater than 5 mm wide; herbage glabrous to glandular or hairy Plant: more or less erect, 5 to 40 cm tall. Decoction of root given to children for stomachaches by the Paiute, Shoshoni, and Havasupai. Infusion of whole plant given to 'anemic' children by the Okanagan-Colville. |
