Flowers:

corolla blue with a yellow center, up to 17 mm, campanulate, as wide as long or wider; calyx lobes longer than tube


Fruit:


Leaves:

leaves mostly 10 to 35 mm long by 5 to 15 mm wide


Plant:

perennial; 2 to 3 dm tall, up to 5 dm; stems clustered from a branched caudex


Habitat:

moist to dry, often rocky slopes, middle elevations in mountains


Distribution of species:

Cascade-Sierran region, east to central Idaho and western Montana


Distribution of genus:

more or less 20 species: America and Eurasia
